Impressions of the IONS Board Meeting

Lia Alvarez, Community Network Board Member, Buenos Aires,
Argentina, and Tahdi Blackstone, Los Angeles, California give
their impressions of the IONS Board Meeting Feb. 22-26, 2007
in Petaluma. This is Ana Lia's final
Board meeting. We thank her for her two years of dedicated
service on the Borad on behalf of the IONS Community Groups.

dear friends,
"My heartfelt gratitude to all the IONS stewards that gave me
the opportunity to hold a space on the board this last two
years, at this shifting times.
I showed up and paid full attention to what is going on. It
was a challenged time that I have undertaken with grace. IONS
is shifting all right and I think that now is the time to step
up and be of help. This is why I am happy that Tahdi and Simone
are on board, they will be able to do it.
Tahdi, Bob, Jane and me had a meeting with Steven who asked us
to organize ourselves in ways that he could tap in this resource
when necessary. He wanted a definition of our talents and what
we were able to give so he could understand to whom he could
address when needed.
We were also asked to use the Shift in Action website as a tool
to communicate and meet. This is a challenge to me personally
but I invite you all to take this challenge as I will do.
Shift in Action is successful and we are asked to use it
since the community groups hasn't started to yet. It is a great
resource and it is growing fast.
There is a possibility to have Angela help us through the
process of getting acquainted with the SIA program which I think
would be wonderful. Then we would have someone to talk to other
than Steven who already has his hands full like everybody else
at IONS.
Tahdi will have a meeting at Hubquarters with James, Rose and
Steven to organize our next steps."

Dear Loved Ones on all the Councils,
I
am thrilled you have had such wonderful reports from Ana Lia
above, and from Jane, Shirley, Bob - even from the horses mouth,
as they say, James and Stephen, on the conference call. I won't
try to add to the content of the board meeting or what's going
on, since that has been so fully covered.
I
would, however, like to add my personal view of a "shift" in
vibes, attitudes, hope - a feeling sense that is almost palpable
of major changes taking place, and major "choices" ahead of us
that will directly affect the direction hubquarters is taking
and the speed with which they are moving. (One profound image is
the shift into "ONE IONS," a cohesive cooperation rather than a
collection of separate departments.)
As the property shifts into exciting possibilities of
partnership, James is freed to implement some of his
extraordinary visions. His report, and the breathtaking job he
and Matthew - and all their team - did on the new "The 2007
SHIFT REPORT ~ EVIDENCE OF A WORLD TRANSFORMING" is utterly
inspired. (If I were being Tahdi instead of trying to be proper
and reserved, I would say, "channeled!") It is exactly the
focus on what is good in the world, what is happening on
important fronts, moving our consciousness from the abysmal to
the hopeful... combined with and created by science and research
- the very hallmark of Noetic Sciences. PLEASE do yourselves a
favor. Get hold of it and read every word of it and then hold
discussions on it with your community groups or member groups or
whatever you are doing. It is a masterpiece.
Another note is how excited Edgar got over the results of a
research project that Dean Radin did on a Yogi, Hindu or
Buddhist (?) monk who has been meditating for 47 years. That is
another suggestion to do yourselves a favor and read thoroughly
about that research as well as what IONS is doing in all
its various research programs. It will knock your socks off.
As
Ana Lia and all have said, we really want to start using 'SHIFT
IN ACTION' to better advantage... The information posted on it
is extraordinary, and using it also makes us a part of and
extension of "ONE IONS." (If we all come under that loving
umbrella led by scientists, do you realize we become the answer
to what Dalai Lama believes is most needed on the planet?!)
Shift in Action is a brilliant tool, designed and available for
our use the more we use it, and if we don't start now, then
when?!! So let's do whatever it takes to get up to speed with
our computers and spend time learning what IONS is really
offering - especially since every community group leader is
required to be a member of Shift In Action in order to be a
community group leader. We all might as well enjoy the jewels
we already have.
One of my all time favorite Willis quotes is, "possibly the most
sophisticated thing any of us can do is to hold a positive
vision." Also, the last day he spent with our group was on the
subject of "whatever we focus on, we create." He named a number
of Nobel Prize winners who said that and explained how it worked
scientifically. That, I believe, is the most important shift of
all we can make - into the adventure of opening up to the new,
and of seeing/talking about/focusing ONLY on the enormous
potential IONS and all of us have to contribute to the
transformation of the world, and envisioning the world after
that transformation has taken place.
Hopefully, all of us are holding IONS, James, Rose, each
department and each staff member, each Board Member, each
community group leader and council representative in open hearts
of positive, joy felt, and love filled energy for the
effectiveness of "ONE IONS" highest and most profound leadership
into creating a world of wisdom and compassion that we all so
long for.
And I definitely hope everyone of you/us is planning on being at
the Palm Springs conference filled with riches, even to having a
day of our own to do with as we like. Call Susan Burns and
