News from the IONS Board

The Institute of Noetic Sciences has a new strategic plan. A Power Point presentation was prepared by IONS President James O' Dea for the March, 2006 board meeting to outline a proposed visionary strategy to board members. This was approved by the board in March. You can download the power point presentation here. This is a large file. You should choose “Save” to disk rather than “Open.”  Then double click the saved file you will be  prompted to UNZIP it.  Once UnZipped, it will be a PowerPoint file, ready to launch. You might note that one of the important objectives of the plan is to engage community group leaders.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences board members met recently June 11-15, 2006, to fine tune this new strategic plan for IONS and begin to fill in details. A copy of IONS new strategic plan can be downloaded from the most recent Circle member News. There will be some innovative programs coming our way designed to integrally engage members. To give you a sense of the power house behind this master mind, we just learned that the board has nominated two new co-chairs, Walter Link and George Zimmer. Get acquainted with these two impressive leaders on Shift in Action. • New Slate of IONS Board Officers George Zimmer and Walter Link are Co-Chairs
  -Sandra Hobson, Vice-Chair
  -Lou Leeburg, Treasurer
  -Daphne Crocker-White, Secretary
• We now have two Community Group Network Council Representatives Ana Lia Alvarez of Argentina and Tahdi Blackstone of Los Angeles, California (Tahdi's version of the board meeting is written here in a letter to the councils. Reading it will give you a sense of the great work being done.)
• 12th International Conference will be held at the LaQuinta Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, California August 8-12, 2007.
• IONS Board meetings will be held twice a year instead of quarterly.
• IONS is a partner in the Science of Peace TV series
• IONS will co-sponsor the Praxis Peace Conference in Croatia June 4-10, 2007 by having an IONS day and presence at the conference.
