Emerging Young Leaders

IONS President James O'Dea has been mentoring a group of young leaders. He will lead the activists in facilitating an intergenerational workshop for emerging leaders of all ages. There is a lot of passion happening with all of them of late as they prepare for the week long retreat at the Omega Institute, called Gathering of Emerging Leaders of All Ages: Transformational Activism to Birth a New Paradigm. This is conscious community building and experiential leadership training all in one! The enthusiasm which is integrating various community and special focus groups is peaked as September 10, 2006 draws near.

It's a delight to see the contagious inspiration of these young activists by viewing their new Flash Movie. Just view their Flash Movie which to get a sense of how committed and passionate the group is about inspiring, engaging and tapping the wisdom of leaders in a way that crosses generations.

At this link Alpha Lo shares a letter about what he has learned experientially about co-leadership. It includes links to other web sites which speak about the vision. You can see that Alpha is describing experiential group processes which many of us have named from cognitive conceptual perspectives. What is so fantastic about this is the young activists are "experiencing" leadership in a transformative way, hence the name of the workshop, Gathering of Emerging Leaders of All Ages: Transformational Activism to Birth a New Paradigm.
