IONS at the Movies

There are many movies out there which are popular. Watching them is a must to support independent films in movie theaters. The films stay around because you go to them. And they visit other cities because you frequent the theaters. Join in. Make them popular by going to the movies! How films get popular depends on it. Recent releases are Dan Millman’s The Peaceful Warrior and Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. Lately the movie from America: Freedom to Fascism is visiting key cities and getting much attention.

One recently internet simulcast movie was shared by Eugene IONS Community group leader Robert Bushman. He discovered The Secret on a recent cruise. Impressed and intrigued, he graciously shared it with NW IONS Community group leaders. You can download a version to watch on your computer or purchase the DVD at this link: The Secret. This 90-minute DVD was conceived and produced by Australian videographer, Rhonda Byrne, and released in April of this year. The movie, The Secret, is a set of interviews with metaphysicians, scientists, teachers around how to work the Law of Attraction, the principal of resonance between what we think and what is mirrored back to us. The Secret is knowledge of how to use the Law of Attraction in particular ways. There is a write up on it The Secret at this link by Susan Burns who is Seattle IONS Community Group Coordinator. It attracted a large crowd.

IONS long time colleague Peter Russell has a 30 minute documentary on DVD entitled from Science to God. This is a great film which lends itself to an intriguing dialogue. Peter's well produced film cites how scientists have studied consciousness in the brain in its various ways. The mystery still remains despite all the research suggesting that consciousness originates beyond the brain.
